Good news is that Lee-Wen is back in the US (she finally got her artist visa!), so our recording project will resume in the next month or so. Best wishes and concerts for the new year 2010! Cheers to you all and thanks for your continued support!!

Our apologies for the website being “down and missing” during the last couple days. The host server of our website just decided to migrate everything (without notifying us) and ended up losing all the site files. Argh! Luckily, the database still exists so it wasn’t too much of a pain to re-upload everything. As you can see, we’ve changed some of the look as we enter into the next season. We will be updating more now that we’re on different sides of the planet. In case you didn’t know, Lee-Wen has relocated to Taiwan for personal reasons, but that will not adversely affect the progress of Luna Duo. Please join me in hoping that she’ll return soon and safely. Hope you all enjoyed your summers and we’ll be back soon!

Dear all, new friends and old, here’s an update for you. Earlier this month we’ve started recording for our debut album. Most of our sessions will be done at New England Conservatory through a good friend, and so far we are happy with the quality and results. More details of the session will be discussed in another post, but please keep your ears open for sample clips.

Right now, Helen is away on vacation in Hawaii while Leewen is enjoying her time in Queens teaching and hanging out with friends. Hopefully your summer is off to a great start and we look forward to giving you more updates.

Hello all… Thank you again to those you came to our NY debut, and for those that couldn’t make it, we truly appreciate your support and promise that you’ll get to hear us in the near future. We want to extend our thanks to our colleagues who have helped us make our debut a success: to our cellist Kai-Wen Liu and pianist Gloria Shih, we couldn’t have done it without your immense time and effort in making Brahms the highlight of the evening (and still our most favorite piece to play); to our Stony Brook friends who cheered us on all the way from… Stony Brook; Jee-sun Lee & Daniel Lee (music directors of Promise Theatre) who gave us this opportunity to perform at their beautiful venue; and finally Wen and Randy who encouraged us to continue this project. Hopefully our network will grow and we’ll get to play in many different places.

Which bring us to our next point: what are our goals for the time being? As a young group, there is still a lot to do in terms of music-making as well as entrepreneurship. We want to learn as much music as possible and be able to perform under-performed works and educate the public about them. Future works to be studied include Dohnanyi String Trio, Milhaud Sonatina for violin and viola, Porter duo, etc. Anybody have any recommendations of good pieces? We are open to any ideas. Since today’s society is infused with technology, we made sure to snatch a space on the Web. Soon we’ll be on MySpace and Facebook as well. Next on our plate is a debut album that will feature some works from the NY debut as well as new works. Recording will mostly likely take place in Boston along with a concert or two in Boston and surrounding areas. Stay tuned!
